Export from Customer.io - BuzzKit

Customer.io keeps devices on people. The People section can export the devices of a workspace as a file, which is what a migration needs. Their own migration page advises against carrying tokens over because their SDK re-registers them, but for a move away from Customer.io, the tokens are exactly what keeps your audience reachable.

Export the devices

Open People.
Choose Export, then Export other, and pick the devices export. It is the same export Customer.io offers for cleaning up bounced devices and duplicate tokens.
Download the file when the export finishes.

The export documentation describes the options and the columns. For a single person, the device data is also in the devices.json of a person export.

Export the people

Attributes live on people, not on devices. To bring them along, export people from the same section with the attributes you want, and merge the two files on the person id, or import the people file a second time with no token column so the attributes land as profiles.

Pick	Column
External id	The person id column, the identifier your app calls identify with
Token or address	The device token column
Column contents	Apple or Android device tokens, by the platform column
Keep other columns as attributes	On for the people file, off for the devices file

Devices Customer.io marked as bounced are dead tokens. Leave them out, or import them and let the first delivery mark them invalid.
