Export from Braze - BuzzKit

Braze’s dashboard CSV export carries profile fields, but the push tokens live in the user export API, which answers in JSON. The migration is an API export followed by a small flattening step.

Export the profiles

Create a segment that holds everyone to migrate. Braze exports by segment, and a segment can be “all users”.
Call the segment export with the fields a migration needs. The key must have the users.export.segment permission.

Braze writes the export to an automatically generated URL, or to your S3 bucket when that is connected, as files of one JSON object per line. Each user’s push_tokens is an array with the app, the platform and the token per device.

Flatten to CSV

Turn each token into its own row. This script reads the exported lines and writes a CSV with the columns the import asks for:

Split the result per platform, or keep one file and let the platform column decide.

Braze exports property names with their original capitalization. Rename columns in the script when your attributes follow a different convention.
